Independent Business Visa
AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS VISA
There are two pathways for Business Skills entry to Australia, and can be done in two ways: As a Provisional (Temporary)Visa holder with eligibility for permanent residence after establishing a business in Australia; or Direct Permanent Residence for high calibre business applicants sponsored by a State/Territory government.
Business Owner (Temporary) 160
Basic Eligibility:
Must be less than 45 years age
Genuine interest in a new business or existing business
Be outside Australia at the time of application, else hold student visa
IELTS 5 within one year validity
Financial Requirement
Business Net assets (combined) of $200,000 2/4 years
Annual Turnover of $500,000 2/4 years immediately before apply
Ownership of 51% if Turnover less than $400,000
Ownership of 30% if turnover more than $400,000
Ownership 10% if publicly listed Co
Total assets of $800,000/- to be transferrable to Australia within a two year timeframe.
Addition to above $100,000 available for the settlement in Aus
Had a successful business career
Obligations:
Notify State/ Territory
A need to live in Australia temporarily
Commitment to ownership interest
Duration of Visa
4 Years
Eligible for PR after two years of holding subclass 160
Senior Executive (Temporary) 161
Basic Eligibility:
45 years of age.
Senior executive employees of major overseas businesses
Have significant net assets.
Genuine/Realistic commitment to participate & manage new or existing business.
Be outside Australia, at the time of application, else hold student visa.
Financial Requirements:
Total assets of at least AUD800 000, capable of transfer to Aus within 2 years of visa.
Sufficient assets (additional) of at least AUD100 000 to settle in Aus
Obligations:
Notify State/ Territory
Intented to develop a business in that State/Territory.
A need to live in Australia temporarily
Commitment to ownership interest
Duration of Visa:
Eligible for PR after 2 years on sub class 161
