Aged Parent

(Subclass 804) Visa

Its suitable for a person in Australia who is old enough to be granted an Australian aged pension and who meets the balance of the family test.
This visa is suitable for any person either inside or outside Australia who is old enough to be granted an Australian aged pension and who have children living in Australia as Permanent Residents or Citizens of Australia. The criterions that need to be met in order to be considered for an Aged Parent Visa are:

The applicant must be aged that is old enough to receive an aged pension.
In Australia, this requires the visa applicant to be aged at least 65 years of age (the minimum age does vary slightly for women depending on the persons date of birth).
 

The applicant must meet the Balance of Family Test.

At least half of the applicant’s children settled in Australia.
OR

The applicant has more children settled in Australia that any single overseas country.
 

All children (including step children and adopted children) will be included in the Balance of Family Test.

The applicant can be sponsored by a settled child, child’s spouse or guardian.

There is a mandatory assurance of support bond and health charge to be paid.
